Chance Dee Thomas

Chance Dee Thomas, 48, of New York, New York passed away Monday February 16, 2026 at Bellevue Hospital, New York, New York. 

There will be a private visitation and burial. 

Chance Dee Thomas was born March 15, 1977 in Rock Island, Illinois: the son of Eddie Dee Thomas and Doris Jean (Lewis) Mc Laughlin.  He was a 1995 graduate of United Township High School, East Moline.  Chance

 enjoyed playing football during his time at United Township High School. He last worked in 2025 as a cook.

Chance was a big Miami Dolphins fan.  He also enjoyed reading. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Chance Domique Thomas, East Moline, and Alexis Nicole Thomas, East Moline, his grandchild, Naomi Thomas, his mother, Doris McLaughlin, and step-father, Gerald McLaughlin, East Moline, his sister, Evena Bennett, his brothers Kenneth D. Lewis, and Stanley K. Kimmins, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Thomas, his son, Chance Dee LaMont-Thomas, his brother, Turamiere Lewis, his sister,  Edina Taylor,  his aunt, Darlene Goins, and his grandmother, Virginia Davis.
